The 30-Year Anniversary Extravaganza
2010 sees Herbalife celebrating their 30th anniversary, and to mark the occasion the world famous Herbalife Extravaganza events have got bigger, better and louder! If you have been to one of the Herbalife Extravaganza events, or you are planning on attending one of the upcoming events in Los Angeles or Sun City, then this article is the perfect companion!
The Herbalife Decade
The Herbalife Extravaganza events in 2010 are being used to launch ‘The Herbalife Decade’, which plans ahead for the next ten years of the Herbalife business. To celebrate, former American Idol finalist Ace Young wrote and performed an exclusive Herbalife anthem, called ‘We Are Here’. The song has been getting played and sung at the Extravaganza events in 2010, and the crowd are encouraged to join in singing the inspirational words which include lines like ‘We are here. We are strong. Finally found where we belong’.
The whole Extravaganza format is intended to unite Herbalife Distributors all over the world, and motivate them to push themselves further, and achieve their potential. Influential people from the company will address the conference, and individual Distributors will get the chance to meet with others and tell of their success stories, and discuss their problems.
The events are also being used to remember founder and former CEO Mark Hughes, ten years on from his tragic death. The tone at the events so far has been one of celebrating his life and achievements, and remembering him as an influential and inspiring figure. These moments have tended to be very poignant and have evoked strong emotions on the stage and in the audience. The entrepreneur and motivational speaker Jim Rohn, who had worked closely with Hughes and Herbalife Distributors, was also remembered following his passing in 2009.
Looking Towards The Future Of Herbalife
The main aim of the Extravaganzas is to focus on the future, however, and the path that Herbalife hopes to take in the next decade. Speeches from people like Geri Cvitanovich are planned for the Los Angeles Extravaganza, and she aims to show Distributors the way forward. Cvitanovich was one of Herbalife’s first ever Distributors, having attended a presentation by Mark Hughes himself, in his garage. She was the first person ever to reach the status of co-founder, and for this reason she is often affectionately known as ‘the mother of Herbalife’. She will address the crowds on the topic of ‘Philosophies of Success’.
Scientists David Heber (founding director of the Center For Human Nutrition at UCLA), Luigi Gratton (Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board Co-ordinator), and Louis Ignarro (Nobel Prize-winning scientist) will also give speeches, in order to give the audience an understanding of the science behind the products, the ingredients used to make them, and the way they work.
Herbalife Idol
At the Stockholm Extravaganza, attended by 6000 people in July, there was the much anticipated return of the ‘Herbalife Idol’ singing competition, where Herbalife Distributors battle it out on stage to impress a panel of judges, in aid of charity. The charity being supported, as always, was the Herbalife Family Foundation, set up by Mark Hughes in 1994. The event was won by Germany, followed closely by the Netherlands and Norway. More importantly, it raised over 60,000 Euros (around $82,500) for the Herbalife Family Foundation.
The Down Side Of The Extravaganza Events
The down side to these events, however, is that their effects on the Distributors are often very short lived, and once the buzz and the adrenaline has worn off, the Distributor returns home and continues to make the same mistakes that they have always been making. Often there is so much emphasis on hype, that the substance is neglected somewhat.
How To Make The Most Of Your Herbalife Extravaganza
You need to leave the Extravaganza feeling motivated and psyched, but you also need to leave with the confidence and the ability to implement improvements in your business that will make the whole event worthwhile. Ultimately, no matter how much fun you have at the Extravaganza, if you walk away into the same problems you were facing in your business before the event, then the whole experience has been worthless.
So if you have attended, or are going to attend, an Extravaganza event this year, then be sure to make the most of it, and use it as a turning point in your business.
